IN CASE YOU WATCHED IT

In case you watched a lot of TV this week like me – Here’s a list of seven things that are worth talking about again.

Louie CK as Lincoln on SNL

SNL isn’t perfect, but Louie CK on SNL was pretty close. Ok there were some misses, like that weird sketch where everyone was dressed up as The Wildings living beyond the White Wall in Game of Thrones, but it was redeemed in a Debbie Downer way with Louie breaking character. The real highlight of the night, though, beyond his monologue was the Lincoln short. Lincoln, Lincoln, Lincoln!

Lori and T-Dog died on The Walking Dead

If you read The Walking Dead comics you know that Lori dies eventually and this has always been in the back of my mind – I just didn’t expect it to happen so soon. A mass of walkers gets let into the prison and all hell breaks loose (again), everyone gets separated, and then Lori goes into labor (of course, stress does these things). T-Dog, after getting bit in the back of the neck in some sexy zombie foreplay, runs off with Carol. He later sacrifices himself to save Carol who is still missing at the end of the episode. Lori is with Carl and Maggie in some room and starts having the baby. Lori must have know, especially since Carol had been practicing c-sections on zombie ladies, that she was going to have to have a c-section again and could potentially die in childbirth. She makes Maggie cut her open and save the baby. I never thought this would be as moving and as emotional a scene, but it was and then Carl had to shoot his own mother in the head so she wouldn’t turn.

The Presidential Election coverage by Brian Williams

The best thing this week (on TV) was undoubtedly the reelection of Barack Obama. I watched NBC’s coverage and Brian Williams once again showed us the perfect kind of newsman. He was serious, lighthearted, and funny. The highlight of the night came when Brian read some of Donald Trump’s tweets and then said, “So there, you have that. That happened.” Perfect Brian.

Anne Frank never died?

I am really digging this season of American Horror Story: Asylum. From sexy nuns, sexy priests, sexy serial killers, sexy lesbians, sexy psychologists, to sexy sex addicts and now enter a sexy Anne Frank? Franka Potente (from the first two Bourne movies and Run Lola Run) guest stars as Anne Frank, or at least a woman who believes she’s Anne Frank. I had thought before this episode that beyond aliens and serial killers this season needed Nazis too and James Cromwell was obviously a Nazi in disguise which this Anne Frank storyline revealed as probably true. We’ll, see.

CeeLo as Prince

The Incident at Gettysburg on Homeland

I love Homeland and in what seemed like an episode to get us to the next episode with some more exciting action out of nowhere shit went down in the tailor’s shop in Gettysburg. Just as Quinn realized that there was something more at the tailor’s shop thanks to Carrie and info from Brody a group of heavily armed men came in and shot everyone and everything up. They cut a hole in the wall and took a giant trunk out of it. I’m so glad I waited until last night to watch this episode because now I don’t have to wait as long to see what happens next.

Tina Belcher once again proves she is one of the best characters on TV.

When he’s not discussing what he watched last night on television with his cats, Steven is a freelance writer and blogger from Boston. He writes about television at TV Hangover and blogs about really important stuff like pizza and feelings at his blog. He also tweets from the bathroom while his children are playing video games.
